Michael C.F. Chan, AIA, the firm's founding principal, has over 30 years of experience in the practice of architecture, planning and interior design. He is a graduate of the University of Southern California, School of Architecture, and received his Master's Degree in Architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. He has been recognized for innovative planning and design, and has received numerous awards for projects, many of which have appeared in national and international publications including Progressive Architecture, Architectural Record, Architectural Digest, and Sunset Magazine.

Michael C.F. Chan is a member of the American Institute of Architects, Los Angeles Chapter and was appointed by the Mayor of Los Angeles as one of the Cultural Affairs Commissioners for the City of Los Angeles. The Cultural Affairs Commission has the responsibility to review the quality of design of all projects located on property owned by the city of Los Angeles.
